HistoricA building with a story & uptown viewsLaunch Factory was envisioned to bring shared offices to one of Charlotte’s oldest historic structures.The General Dyestuff Building was constructed in 1939 and supported the textile industry. Originally German-owned and operated, the US government took control of the building in 1942, during World War II, because of its enemy affiliation.Today, many of the original building elements remain – from the wooden beams and brick walls, to the large industrial windows and loading docks. One of the building entrances even goes through the original freight elevator.In our common areas, you’ll find vintage photographs and samples of some of the original textiles. And from our oversized windows, you’ll get great Uptown Charlotte views.ModernUpscale coworking & a casual vibeThe Launch Factory at the General Dyestuff Building is now a coworking space designed for the demands of modern business.The core building was originally renovated in 2008, and in 2016, Launch Factory opened its Charlotte location. Then, in 2019, we acquired the entire third floor and completed a major renovation that included adding 17 new and well-planned private offices.The interior amenities are modern, and many finished spaces still feature original architectural details.
