#1 Brooklyn is the birthplace of WeWork

WeWork founders Miguel McKelvey and Adam Neumann started Greendesk in 2008.

The coworking space considered an earlier version of WeWork began after Neumann, a businessman interested in real estate, propositioned the landlord of a vacant warehouse in Dumbo.

His idea was to start a real estate business in the building that focussed on filling vacancies by renting desks and private offices to customers month-to-month.

Although the duo sold their stake and started WeWork, Greendesk continues to thrive with its eco-friendly flex spaces in Dumbo, Downtown Brooklyn, Williamsburg and other places.

#5 Travelling To Manhattan Is Easy

We’ve mentioned that Brooklyn is an affordable place to live and work. But what if you need to commute to the “city”.

No problem - you can reach Manhattan via subway easily! But if you’re looking to assimilate into the Brooklyn way of life - hop on a bike!

Biking is popular here as it saves on money, is better for the environment, and is a great way of keeping fit in the workweek.
