Oakland International Airport is 15 minutes down the highway by car or you can take BART. City Center itself has shops, restaurants, and when the weather is good, music in the plaza on Wednesdays. We are a short distance from Jack London Square and the bay (kayaking anyone?). Lake Merritt is great for walking around and enjoying the scenery.
