The Plaza Tower I Center is on the 11th floor of the second tallest building in Orange County, providing gorgeous views of the city of Costa Mesa. The striking curved stainless steel building, designed by world-renowned architect Cesar Pelli, is located in the prime business, cultural arts and retailing district. Costa Mesa's economy relies heavily on retail. The nearby South Coast Plaza, with more than 300 stores, is among the highest volume regional shopping centers in America, generating more than one billion dollars per year. There is some light manufacturing activity, mostly in the industrial, southwestern quarter of the city, which is home to a number of electronics, pharmaceuticals and plastics firms. Costa Mesa is also home to the Orange County Fair each July, bringing in one million visitors. John Wayne airport is just four miles away from the center, which also offers good access to the thriving economies of Santa Ana and Irvine.
