BOLD | live, work, play is a lifestyle brand that designs, builds, and operates a number of facilities geared toward entrepreneurs, creatives, and other self-driven professionals.The story of BOLD dates back to 2011, when Jesse Biter purchased the former Century Bank building in downtown Sarasota. Biter proceeded to transform the building into a multi-use office space, with small / start-up businesses in mind. The renovated building became home to a diverse group of tenants, and a coworking initiative was launched in collaboration with the building's anchor tenant. Over the next four and a half years, the building came to house over 60 independent businesses and hundreds of coworking members.In 2016, Biter partnered with two of his former protégés, Tom Frascone and Ben Kiekel, to redevelop the building's concept into a scalable model and unique brand. Tom, with an extensive background in branding and business development, and Ben, an attorney specializing in contract law and business operations, developed the unique BOLD | live, work, play brand identity. This new identity would allow the trio to expand beyond the original model of providing commercial and coworking space, and expand outside of Sarasota.With the new brand established, the partners relaunched Biter’s downtown Sarasota office building as BOLD Cowork Sarasota. The relaunch of the coworking program also included a new, community-sourced curriculum of seminars, lectures, and workshops. These BOLD-curated events were launched with the intent of providing entrepreneurs the mentorship, education, and resources needed to launch and grow successful businesses.In 2017, BOLD | live, work, play also announced the groundbreaking of BOLD Lofts Sarasota, a new multi-family residential project in downtown Sarasota. The new building, located directly adjacent to BOLD Cowork Sarasota, features 97 rental units (ranging from studios to 3-bedrooms), 7000sqft of commercial space, and shared amenities including a rooftop pool and lounge area. Residents are offered discounted memberships at the adjacent coworking building.The first major expansion of BOLD coworking spaces was also announced in 2017, with the launch of BOLD Cowork St. Pete. Occupying roughly 12,000 sqft in the Priatek building in downtown St. Petersburg, Florida, BOLD Cowork St. Pete features both coworking spaces and private offices, as well as shared business amenities. BOLD members at any location have the option of adding a “Road Warrior” perk to their memberships, allows them to work at either BOLD cowork location.
