Toong, which directly translated from Vietnamese means beehive, is aptly named. Launched back in 2015 by its founder and CEO, Duong Duo, Toong operates differently from other coworking spaces.

When the concept of coworking first gained traction, some flex space providers responded by pushing out flashy, tech-infused start-up hubs. Duo’s focus reached beyond inspiring spaces and game-changing technology toward philosophies that incorporated individual wellbeing and the preservation of culture.

His business plans have always been quite ambitious. His goal is to change how people in Vietnam work by providing human-centric work environments where professionals can flourish unimpeded.

The focus of these workplaces is individuals and their journey of self-transformation in their respective careers. With talents nurtured and the potential of worker bee’s uncovered, only then can businesses gain momentum to change society for the better.

History Of Toong

Toong's first coworking space opened in an area of downtown Hanoi called Thrang Thi. The hub is one of the largest of its kind in Vietnam, boasting 750-square metres of space compared to the tiny cafes freelancers and startups were previously resigned to use.

The creators faced many obstacles while developing the space, one of the largest being that the flex space was positioned on the upper levels of a building with no elevator.

However, Toong's flagship space gained the attention of Vietnam's working population, and the risks soon paid off. It became evident that people wanted a change from traditional workspaces for attractive, cost-effective hubs that prioritised wellness.

In the short five years of operating, having expanded into Ho Chi Minh City, Nha Trang, Vientiane, Phnom Penh, Toong has broadened its horizons across Indochina.

Why Do We Love Toong?

Toong is founded on core values that Office Hub also embodies.

The first is something we've already mentioned: their human-orientated approach that puts an individual's happiness, motivation and satisfaction at the forefront of their business model.

In part, this has been achieved by producing evoking interiors, where emerging Vietnamese styles shape work journeys and provide a source of inspiration for office occupiers.

Other ways that Toong has fostered a positive workplace culture is its focus on events-holding. Having hosted over 1000 functions, Toong plays a role in knowledge sharing, thus paving the way to a more driven, educated and engaged workforce.

By offering these value-added events, Toong workspaces don't just bolster people's productivity levels but offer platforms that encourage innovators to push the boundaries.

What makes Toong office complexes fun, characterful, and profoundly enriching are the working communities that fill the spaces. Toong prides itself on bringing people together from different backgrounds who work harmoniously and elevate one another.

Finally, Toong vow never to stop reinventing themselves, believing that there is always room for self-improvement. With this in mind, customers are promised unrivalled workspaces that evolve with the times.

How Does Toong Compare With Other Coworking Spaces?

Toong might be the first work environment developer in Indochina that boasts a major large-scale coworking network, but that doesn’t mean they’re getting complacent or too comfortable with their current standing.

Instead, Toong is taking a different approach with their competitors, not seeing them as rivals with whom they need to compete but aim to encourage others to open their own spaces for the development of the coworking ecosystem.

Because, what matters is to change the work mindset into one that is more flexible, progressive, nurturing, positive and upbeat.
